GLP-1 Friends
Draft — not yet reviewed
This disclaimer is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the highlighted passages below are still unanswered. It is published so members can see how GLP-1 Friends actually handles their information today — everything it describes about how the site works is accurate as written, but treat it as a statement of practice, not a finished legal agreement.

Medical disclaimer

GLP-1 Friends is peer support, not medical care. Always consult your provider about dosing and side effects. Here is what that means in full.

Nothing on this site is medical advice

Everything you read here — posts, replies, profiles, guides, direct messages — is other people describing their own experience. Members are not your clinicians. They have not seen your chart, your labs, your other prescriptions, or your history. Nothing on GLP-1 Friends is a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for the person who actually prescribes your medication.

Do not change your dose because of something you read here

This is the one we care about most. Titration schedules, dose holds, skipped weeks, splitting pens, stacking medications, stopping suddenly — none of that is safe to copy from a stranger, however similar their story sounds. What worked for someone else may be wrong or dangerous for you. Every change goes through your prescriber first.

For the same reason we ask members not to give dosing instructions. The community guidelines say it plainly: no medical advice beyond “ask your provider,” and posts that hand out dosing instructions or tell someone to go around their provider are removed.

If something is wrong, do not wait for a reply

This is a message board. Nobody is monitoring it for emergencies, there is no clinician on call, and a post may sit unanswered for hours. If you have symptoms that worry you — severe or persistent abdominal pain, vomiting you cannot keep ahead of, signs of dehydration, a reaction to an injection, chest pain, trouble breathing, or thoughts of harming yourself — contact your provider or emergency services straight away.

In the United States that is 911 for an emergency, 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text), and 1-800-222-1222 for Poison Control — which is the right number if you have taken the wrong dose or the wrong medication, and are not sure whether it is an emergency yet.

GLP-1 Friends is intended for members in the United States, but if you are reading this from elsewhere: 112 reaches emergency services across the European Union and in the UK, as does 999 in the UK, 911 in Canada, 000 in Australia and 111 in New Zealand. If you are in crisis, the Samaritans are on 116 123 in the UK and Ireland, 988 works in Canada as well as the US, and Lifeline is 13 11 14 in Australia.

What members share is experience, not evidence

Side effects, timelines, results and “this is what fixed my nausea” stories are genuinely useful — that is the point of this community. They are also a self-selected handful of people, remembered imperfectly, with no control group. Treat them as a starting point for a conversation with your provider, not as a finding.

Anything we publish ourselves is general information too

Guides and resources written or curated by GLP-1 Friends are general information about a class of medication. They are not personalised to you, they can go out of date, and they do not create a clinician–patient relationship with anyone. Where a guide names a reviewer, that tells you who checked it for accuracy — not that it applies to your situation.

Moderators are not clinicians

Moderators keep the community kind and remove content that breaks the rules. They are not reviewing posts for medical accuracy and cannot vouch for anything a member says. A post that is still up has not been fact-checked; it has only not been removed.

No buying, selling, or sourcing — ever

These medications require a prescription and a provider. We do not allow offers, requests, vendor links, compounding sources, or “DM me” workarounds, and new posts are screened automatically for them. This is a safety rule before it is a legal one: unverified supply is how people get counterfeit or mis-dosed product.

The short version

  • Peer support, not medical care.
  • Your prescriber decides your dose. Always.
  • Emergencies go to emergency services, not to a thread.
  • Experience is not evidence.
  • Nothing here is prescribed, reviewed, or supervised by a clinician.
